David Powell set up Risk for Schools in direct response to a growing number of Australian schools and colleges seeking his expertise in relation to risk.

David has over 30 years of ‘big 4’ accounting firm experience, including 10 years as a partner and has consulted to clients in a range of industries on IT audit, risk management, internal audit, corporate governance and external audit. In 2009 David set up Powell & Co, which provides a range of risk management, governance and audit services to private and public sectors.

David chairs the Audit and Risk Committee of multiple organisations. He is the former chair of the Pilgrim School Board.

As well as working with a number of leading Australian schools David has been involved with some of the largest corporate and government internal audit assignments in Australia, providing advice to management and boards of major Australian enterprises in both the private and public sector.
